Tā Mātou Kōrero - Our Story

Nau mai, haere mai—welcome to Aroha Kaitiaki.

The designs in this shop begin their journey on hand-carved boards, originally created for the block printing of our handmade infant line, Pēpi Kaitiaki (which you can also find at physical markets across Northland and on Facebook).

This craft was forged in Rarotonga, learned directly at the feet of the master himself, Mike Tavioni, over a span of ten years. Today, every design stands as a proud testament to all three of my Polynesian heritages. My culture is everything to me—it is the very pulse of my existence—and there is nothing I treasure more than sharing our beautiful history and harmonious spirit with the world.

But Aroha Kaitiaki is about more than just art. The true vision behind this business has always been to create a stream of support to empower our communities. That is why $1 from every single purchase goes directly toward our foundation to fund scholarships.

Thank you for helping us protect the past and build a brighter future
